Kishu Charcoal

Use your BottlesUp with your tap water, filter naturally with Kishu Charcoal.

Kishu is the green way to filter your tap water. Your Kishu-filtered water tastes pure and sweet in our glass water bottles.

Kishu is a unique charcoal used by the Japanese for centuries to purify drinking water. Holm oak trees are sustainably harvested then slowly fired in traditional kiln ovens over many days.

Kishu is easy to use. Simply place the charcoal in our bottle of tap water, where it immediately begins absorbing impurities like copper, cadmium, mercury, lead, and chlorine and imparting healthy minerals like calcium and potassium. Let sit overnight for optimal absorption. A single piece lasts up to six months and is completely compostable.

Recycled Glass Water Bottles: Glass is Back

BottlesUp - Laurel Herter

For everyone with an appreciation for fine design looking for a simple, logical way to decrease their impact on the planet, we give you BottlesUp. Architectural glass artist and BottlesUp founder Laurel Herter knows how to blend form and function. She spent nearly 30 years designing and creating everything from church stained glass windows, to carved glass tabletops, to intricate leaded glass skylights. After becoming increasingly aware of the dangers posed by plastic waste, Laurel reached out to noted glass blower Jonathan Poirer of Savannah, Georgia to start blowing glass and create some of the initial prototypes for her freshly designed line of portable glass water bottles. The results, from both aesthetic and utilitarian perspectives, were a resounding success. Using recycled glass, the semi-automatic process gives each bottle it’s own texture and brilliance while the tapered midsection and silicone rings provide allow for an easy, comfortable grasp of the bottle (the sturdy design ensures it can handle the everyday tumble with no problem.) Additionaly, unlike other popular portable bottles, glass does not leave lingering odors, tastes, or residues. BottlesUp Glass, modern simplicity designed right.
